About this site
This site used to give visitors information on the multi media productions
of DJMC. Since 2003 DJMC has stopped its production activities. Some
of their productions (in the Dutch language) are still available,
for more information you can contact
us.
Now this site is a place for information about traditional art and
music, particularly from the Phillipines. The idea came up when we
realised that our collections of Philippine musical instruments, textiles
and beadwork, although safely stored in the depots of two museums,
had not been seen for almost 30 years. We asked the museums to return
the collections to us so that we could present them on the Internet.
Now we can show you our musical instruments, textiles and beadwork
from the Philippines. And we have added an extensive and updated report
on our ongoing search for the history of the tiger bells as a possible
migration tracer.
The pages will be updated and improved regularly. We also hope that
other contributors might be willing to share their websites, pictures
and knowledge about subjects related to the Philippines, and South
East Asia in general, with us. Therefore we have added a list of links,
still a short one as yet but we will try to update that regularly
as well.
Welcome to our website!
